LWK Welcomes New Directors On-board
30 Apr 2018
LWK & Partners (HK) Ltd. (“LWK” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce and welcome three new directors on-board in April – Mr. Benjamin Chan, Mr. Tom Mak, and Mr. Andrew Reid.
Benjamin has 17 years of relevant experience in the industry. He has crafted many award-winning high-rise and hotel designs, and specialises in the management and coordination of large-scale mixed-use projects. He utilises cutting-edge models and software in his designs, and is a devoted promoter of building information modelling (BIM) technology in the Greater China region. Benjamin is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), and was the Director of the Lead Design Consultant team in the Beijing Universal Studios City Walk project.
Tom has joined our team as the Director of Environmental + Experience Design. With over 20 years of experience in graphic design, brand strategy, orientation signage, environmental graphic design, and other types of architecture-related design, he has previously made significant contribution at several well-known international advertising companies and real estate giants. Environmental and experience design is a relatively new development in the built environment area. Tom joining LWK will enable the Company to grasp the potential business growth in the sector.
Our new Project Director, Andrew, was originally from the UK, but has been an architect and design manager in Hong Kong for 25 years. He was highly involved in the development of the Hong Kong International Airport and has subsequently worked on many projects that promote transit-oriented development. The geographical span of his work covers vast grounds from Hong Kong to the Middle East. His thorough understanding of the full cycle of activities has accumulated for him a variety of skills and experience to deliver optimised projects.
In addition to his design capabilities, Benjamin will also head LWK’s Beijing Studio when it launches later this year. The new studio is expected to give LWK a higher exposure to the Beijing and Northern China market. It will also be a frontline contact point with Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. (“BMEDI”), our strategic partner, to explore project opportunities. With more projects completed in the region, LWK aims to establish a stronger design presence in China.
Design nowadays is not just about balancing aesthetics and function, but also pays tribute to elements of sustainability, efficiency, user experience and technological advancements. Under the leadership of our new directors, LWK’s professional teams will continue to work together and collaborate at all levels to create smarter cities for users through the establishment of remarkable architectures.
