LWK + PARTNERS at the RIBA ADC Future Leaders Competition: Shaping the Cities of Tomorrow
As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of design leaders, LWK + PARTNERS proudly participated in the RIBA ADC Cityscape LIVE Charette – Urban Transformation Competition in Riyadh. This dynamic event brought together young architects and fresh graduates to collaborate, ideate, and develop solutions that address sustainability, smart cities, and inclusive urban environments.
The competition was an initiative of the Architecture and Design Commission (ADC)—established in February 2020 under the Ministry of Culture—in partnership with RIBA. It provided an exciting opportunity for emerging talents to engage in a real-time design challenge that combined creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, with a strong focus on tackling some of the most pressing issues in urban development today.
Our Shenzhen Director, Benjamin Chan, joined the event as a facilitator and mentor, guiding participants through the design process and encouraging them to push boundaries in sustainable urban planning. His expertise, along with insights from other industry leaders, helped equip the competitors with the tools needed to shape the future of cities in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
The competition culminated in a prestigious awards ceremony on November 14 at the RIBA and ADC stands, where outstanding submissions were celebrated.
