This is Foshan’s first lifestyle-driven transit-oriented development built above a metro depot. Located on the northern site of Huchong station on Line 2 of Foshan Metro, which is southwest to the Chanxi New City, the project was conceived around mass transit as being the default mode of commuting, unifying the station, the city and its habitants under a single urban system. Retail elements spread out along the pedestrian walkways connecting the station and residential blocks with urban amenities like long-haul transport hubs and offices, giving residents a seamless experience between the metro station, retail areas and their homes as they return from work every day. Efficiency and leisure come neatly together in response to the diverse lifestyles of residents, while the project takes advantage of the nearby riverscape to create a vibrant community of growth.
