LWK + PARTNERS | Director RAIN Zhao was invited to attend the TAOTAO TALK “Towards Humanistic Cities” VOL.06 forum event. As a panelist, he engaged in deep discussions with industry leaders, exploring topics such as “The Paradigm Shift in Chinese Residential Design” and “The Ecological Reconstruction of the Design Industry.”
Drawing from recent new residential projects, he shared insights from a frontline designer’s perspective: The design of a “good house” is one with warmth, enhancing the core living experience. He advocates for achieving spatial elasticity through rich flexibility, promoting the “symbiotic community” concept to return the possibilities of spatial experiences to residents.
At the same time, a “good house” must be paired with a “community foundation that has warmth,” breaking free from commercial grid thinking. This transforms the community base from a mere profit tool into a supportive carrier for life, infusing it with human touch and everyday vitality through more textured spatial designs.
