Empowering students with training and mentorship

LWK + PARTNERS recently hosted three students from Ko Lui Secondary School who undertook a two-week internship at our Hong Kong studio under the Project WeCan Job Tasting Programme, constituting a meaningful experience during the summer holidays.

This is the fifth year where LWK + PARTNERS engages in the programme, which aims to empower young people with broader vocational choices by offering hands-on experience in real corporate environments. Three students from our partner school Ko Lui Secondary School joined us this year to take part in architectural design, landscape design and other creative tasks. LWK + PARTNERS staff acted as mentors, sharing life experiences and work skills to encourage personal growth and development.

At a sharing session, students Lillian Wong, CoCo Lee and Kenny Kam outlined their experience at LWK + PARTNERS capturing fun and memorable moments with hard and soft skills learnt. Among the attendees were Ko Lui Secondary School Principal Wong Sheung Kam, teachers, LWK + PARTNERS Director Ivan Fu and members of our staff. The students also showed their teachers around the studio giving an overview of their daily tasks.

Launched in 2011, Project WeCan is a Business-in-Community initiative providing students who are disadvantaged in learning with opportunities and care to improve their higher studies and future career prospects. LWK + PARTNERS has supported the project with different initiatives including the Job Tasting Programme, Young Innovators Bazaar, workshops themed on architectural design and more. The Company also provided professional consultation for facilities enhancement at its partner school Ko Lui Secondary School.
