Our Hong Kong studio participated in a Virtual Career Exploration Day organised by Project WeCan on 21 November, allowing secondary school students to understand more about the architecture industry and get a taste of what it is like to be an architect. It helps them develop a better picture on career paths, recognise their interest and aptitude, and build up confidence.
Through interactive live broadcasting, Associate Director Anika Poon outlined the career path of an architect, the qualities and skills required to be one, her own real-life experience and what a typical working day looks like for her. She also demonstrated how to draw perspectives – a fundamental industry skill – for showing a design.
The Project WeCan Career Exploration Day, which took place online this year due to the pandemic, offers individual career consultation, job tasters, talks and mock interviews. LWK + PARTNERS is a long-time corporate partner of Project WeCan, an initiative aimed to inspire broader career aspirations in Hong Kong secondary school students.
