This 18-storey shopping mall provides a refreshing vertical shopping experience in Dongmen, a long-established commercial core of Shenzhen. Its avant-garde frontage features a complex system of undulating stripes that shows two express escalators inside, promoting visibility and spatial interaction between outdoors and indoors. The rear façade is formed by rhomboidal aluminium punch-plates in folds, where a huge triangle subtly shows from afar. This results in an interesting resonance with the front. Accessibility and circulation are facilitated through a ground-floor main entrance, footbridge and express escalators directing traffic to higher floors.
