The commercial project, which opened in 2020, is the first island-style commercial street in China. By integrating various formats such as commerce, culture, art, shopping, and leisure, it complements and integrates with the first phase of Sanya International Duty Free City. It has become a highlight of commerce and tourism in Haitang Bay, Sanya. Recently, due to the participation of new investor Swire Properties, LWK + PARTNERS has been fortunate to undertake the design and renovation of the project. The aim is to enhance its positioning as an international high-quality retail destination in Hainan Province and support the construction of Sanya International Tourism Consumption Center while building a comprehensive destination for tourism, shopping, and leisure at Hainan International Free Trade Port.

The renovation focuses on the southwest corner of Hexin Island and involves renovating an area of 9,659 square meters out of a total site area of 34,855 square meters (approximately one-third). The plan retains the original architectural language and style while preserving the cultural-tourism facade characteristic of Sanya's architecture along with a large roof inspired by "South Sea Pearl Shells". Emphasis is placed on local elements that echo Sanya's climate characteristics. In addition to upgrading business formats and attracting merchants into renovated spaces under this large roof structure will drive flagship stores' entry into enhancing experiential quality and commercial atmosphere within the project.
