Taikoo Li Qiantan named finalist in Quality Building Award 2022
Taikoo Li Qiantan in Shanghai, China is proudly named one of the five finalists of Quality Building Award 2022 in the ‘Building Projects outside Hong Kong’ category! The project team will be presenting to the jury in September running for the top prize.
From site planning and design right through to resolving construction challenges, the team has exemplified ultra-high standards for the industry.
To create a unique Wellness-driven retail experience, the project adopts an open plan with interconnected alleys. One tough challenge came from two metro lines running through the site and splitting the site into north and south portions, which made construction highly complicated. The team worked tirelessly to implement total quality and risk management, including the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to check for conflicts in layouts, structural systems and M&E systems, completing the project in time with prime quality.
The biennial Quality Building Award is a major highlight for the Hong Kong’s building industry, recognising excellent teamwork in the design and construction of quality buildings with the aim to set top standards and competitive practices for the profession. The judging panel consists of government officials, presidents of professional institutes, and academic professionals.
