Our Director Ivan Fu joined a panel of real estate heavyweights to plot a clearer path towards sustainable urban development at a live-streamed discussion on 2 November, part of the most influential Beyond 2020: World Sustainable Built Environment Online Conference.
Titled ‘Leading Hong Kong case studies: Advancing Net Zero in a high-rise, high-density built environment’, the panel focuses on Hong Kong’s opportunities and challenges for promoting sustainable development. Ivan urged society to embrace green finance development and called for informatisation of the industry. He also highlighted the importance of setting agreed, measurable goals in the path towards net zero.
The World Sustainable Built Environment conference takes place every three years and is one of the world’s leading events for developing key strategies and best practices for sustainable development. It is co-owned by iiSBE (International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment), CIB (International Council for Research And Innovation In Building And Construction), UN Environment (United Nations Environment Programme) and FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers).
Originally planned for June, the event was moved online to take place on 2-4 November this year due to the pandemic. The Hong Kong session is co-organised by Construction Industry Council and Hong Kong Green Building Council.
