With the rapid proliferation of property technologies and the growing concern for sustainability in city planning, the field of urban development is changing by leaps and bounds. In recent years, what constitutes a “good city” has continuously been redefined.
Kerem Cengiz our MENA Managing Director joined the main plenary of the 2022 ULI Philippines Conference held at Clark Marriott Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga which was attended by nearly 200 participants, both in-person and livestream. On Thursday 23rd June 2022 at the first major hybrid event of ULI Philippines Kerem presented through livestream what our MENA research team have developed in relation to technology and innovation for smart cities.
The presentation was followed by a Panel Discussion that discussed the challenges and offered solutions to shape the future of the built environment through transformative impact for communities worldwide.
To properly explore the untapped potential of today’s cities, ULI Philippines this year invited an impressive line-up of global industry experts, business leaders and scholars to impart their insights on the dynamic field of city planning. The panelists included:
Rob Brown, CEO, KERB
Wesley Chu, Deputy Division Manager, Daikin
Pam Belen, President and Co-Founder, Umpisa
Moderated by Sylvester Wong, Business Lead, AECOM
The panel, when asked to envision the city of the future, visualized an environment that leverages on the innovations and data of today to become more adaptable to change, more human-centered, and more inclusive.
There is much hope within the sector for the latent potential of improved urban developments and with the help of technology, these visions are gradually closer to actualization.
