Xichen Paradise Walk is the retail component of an integrated complex in the heart of west Chengdu, at the base of two office towers and adjacent to the residential component.
Accessibility and transparency underpin the architecture, featuring a ‘multi ground floor’ concept to allow entry from different levels and facilitate traffic flow to the higher levels. Most of the retail floors are also visible from the main entrance for enhanced transparency. The elevation features an interplay of geometric shapes where an iconic lantern-like façade reveals the large-scale installation inside, making the building recognisable from a distance.
The mall is designed to encourage social interaction and activities. An outdoor rooftop piazza allows for public events or simply a place to relax, with multiple spaces for public display and outdoor terraces accessible from various retail zones for an integration of commercial and natural environments. A flower theme is used in the common area with big flower-pod installations and abundant natural light in a friendly social space.
